The Vault of Mini Things

We used the Vault at a recent D&D retreat and I was so impressed I went out and ordered a copy the next day. Our game already uses 3D minis and Dwarven Forge but the Vault's exhaustive supply of minis and intro terrain combined with their catalog system make it an incredibly cost, time AND space efficient way to bring immersion to your games. It's at the very least a complement and possibly a replacement(!) for a lot of systems out there.

This product is amazing, it has excellent terrain and awesome colored minis. The scale at which you can play using only this is great, this is a perfect use of cardboard.

The quality and value of this product is crazy. If you want to have all your encounter monsters and terrain in a single box you can't do better than this. And all in color, it's amazing.

This is excellent, and is high value for what you get. I use it with youth programming, and it is indespensable.

I recently got back into D&D and I was a bit jealous of my DM who has amassed hundreds of beautifully hand painted miniatures over decades of play. Growing up we used to play using theater of the mind. Having now played with miniatures, I see how it ups the realism and immersion. I considered starting a mini collection, but the cost was prohibitive. I also have a disability, so painting minis isn't something I could do. I wasn't thrilled about the idea of having a bunch of grey minis. Then I discovered the Vault of Mini Things

The standees in the Vault are beautiful full color designs from the artists at Printable Heroes. The style of the images are very consistent which I really like. There are lots of variations of color, art elements, and poses, which adds to the aesthetic. The standees even have front and back views.

The box is absolutely huge. It has lots of storage trays and boxes for all the various pieces, along with a neat organization system for the standees. It comes with a huge amount of standee minis, bases, props, terrain, and walls to make your encounters really shine. It even has "pogs", which are basically disc shaped inserts for the bases, with artwork to match to each of the different terrains. All the printed material is on very rigid card stock that feels like playing cards. The walls are made of a thicker material, and they slot into pillars to stand upright.

It took a bit of work to organize everything, as the minis come printed on a die-cut sheet. They each have to be popped out from the sheet. Be careful during this process as I had a few standees rip slightly, though they were easily fixed with a glue stick and a Sharpie.

My only gripe with the vault is that it doesn't come with a printed index for all the standees. I'm making one myself, referring back to the printableheroes.com whenever I'm unsure about a creature's name.

This isn't a gripe, but more of a suggestion It would be nice if there was a solution have dungeon walls at other angles than 90 degrees. You can sort of fake it by using 2 pillars on each wall segment and butting them next to each other at different angles. The problem doing it this way, is that it uses a lot more pillars, which are limited quantity. Perhaps an 8-way design, or 120 degree pillars for Hexagon layouts, and 135 degrees for an octagon.

I can't recommend this product enough. The quality is outstanding, and it's great value considering how much stuff is in the box. I will definitely be purchasing the expansion sets.

Great stuff. Definitely upgraded my DND game

Great comprehensive set for a dungeon master! As a Pathfinder player, I'd love to see more standees included for some of the more exotic heritages (i.e. Leshy, Shoony, Ratfolk, etc.) and some of the more varied monsters from the system!

Amazing!

It's a great Product!

This thing has literally everything you could ever need for your game! Specifically wonderful when your PC's decide to zig when you thought they would zag, you still have nearly everything they could possibly encounter within reach, and orginized to find fast. 10 out of 10. Would Vault again!

The product itself is very good. Wonderful variety of monsters with good art in a relatively small space has vastly improved my groups gaming night. HOWEVER, the lack of any kind of printed index borders on criminal. The best solution I’ve found relies on a shared google doc. If you’re willing to deal with that, it’s a great product, but what an unnecessary self inflicted wound.

Definitely a complete kit to run adventures. With the add ons available you'll have all you need.

I’ve been a dungeon master for decades and this is one of the best products I’ve ever found. Makes it so easy to create encounters without much prep.Fantastic

Super cool artwork!
