SATCOMM INSTALLATION - ABANDONED
The best cinematic action scenes feature giant structures with extreme verticality. The enormous SatComm Installation is worthy as the climactic set-piece location for any action franchise (RIP Arecibo). The huge dish rotates in accordance with your whims; if you're thinking of a Control Objective scenario where two opposing forces are trying to align it towards one of two different directions, you're on our wavelength.

Two platforms can be attached to the structure‘s legs, and are engineered to precisely line up with any of the ramps, platforms, ladders, catwalks and bridge elevations from our other sets. Each platform attaches simply and securely to specific points on the Tower‘s support columns, so you can rearrange your level design between battles—or even adjust them during a battle, like a firefight freight elevator.

INCLUDES:
• SatComm Dish Tower • Comms Control Bunker • 2 Adjustable Platforms • 2 Ladder Stands

Great and detailed terrain

I kickstarted this terrain from Tinkerturf and it was well worth it. Putting these pieces together isn’t terribly difficult but does take time and patience using pva glue and clamps to hold the pieces together. Sturdy construction and they hold up during game play well. I’ve played a few smaller games with these pieces, both WH40k and kill team and thematically they were awesome, I felt like the tower itself could have used more platforms or steps so models and squads movement would be easier to scale. Otherwise this was some great terrain additions to my table.

Its a great center piece or point of interest for my table

I own this product because I supported the company through their last Kickstarter project. The goodIt was a great project, went together easily. The main array tower is a multi-part assembly, the instructions available on their website were amazing. It stores in a properly sized plastic shoe box easily, or if you have the space, it looks good enough to be displayed on a shelf, and you get the small building too. (The first real building they have released and has me excited to see more in the future.)Assembly is easy, white school glue is all you need. I did find some cheap plastic alligator clamps were helpful, the company recommends them, But they are not required. It is all notch-in-hole, notch-in-notch, or face-to-face gluing. really simple. The company even labels their glue spots on the back facing of face-to-face parts.Things I learned that may help. Not deal breakers for me or worth deducting points. While it goes together easily, some things to know. The platforms that attach to the ladder go together well, but I would recommend using a dot of super glue or tape to hold the platform support in place while the white glue dries. It feels like a slight oversight in the design process, but there really could have been another notch to help it be more secure. Otherwise, no issues. The legs are a notch in notch assembly. I learned that if you don’t punch out the negative spaces in the truss design, it doesn’t feel as fragile and provides some rigidity while you assemble the legs. Once they are together, punch them out. (Similar legs used on the Mag Lev depo ver. 2 by the way.)There are little pieces for inserting into the ladders to help a model stand on them if the model did not make it up them during their move. They are a bit frustrating to assemble because they seem to be the one part where the notches are never big enough and the walls are thin so it’s easy to break. This is the only part I wish they would have 3d printed and sold as a separate package. I own a lot of this terrain. anytime a ladder is included there are one to three of these included depending on the set.
